“I trust Manu to foster that adventurous spirit in a safe, fun, and mindful way”
This is the second summer that my kids (age 7 & 9) are doing this Walk A Bout Camp with Manu. My kids absolutely love Manu and have soaked up from her a wealth of knowledge and skills, for life and survival, including a respect for nature and others, and caring for the environment. They come home excited about learning to build a shelter, starting a fire (safely), making cordage, identifying animal tracks, rock climbing, and even picking up trash during their hikes was fun! They have been to numerous beautiful nature areas around Los Angeles that I've never even heard of before and I hope to explore myself one day. The kids have a blast every day on their adventures and I trust Manu to foster that adventurous spirit in a safe, fun, and mindful way. I'm grateful my kids have such an amazing and inspiring role model in their life. :)

OMG where to start? Manu is the real deal, warm hearted, smiley, and after a week away with her my kids (8 and 9, completely different personalities and likes) both ADORED her. Manu's helpers felt great too. I liked SO much about this camp. My kids still talk about the amazing camp food, still clutch their little tins of survival tools, and still walk a little taller because they know a little more about the nature we live in and how to handle it. Go Camp Manu!

What a wonderful, cool, resourceful person Manu is. I contacted her during quarantine to find some low population river spots to bring my four year old daughter and Manu sent me exact locations of beautiful adventures and spent an hour on the phone with me, going over all kinds of safety suggestions for outdoor adventures. I now have an emergency kit packed in my backpack that makes me feel so much more at ease when I go exploring I so hope we can be a part of her Camp next year.
Manu, she was amazing, she gave us all the cool spots to visit in Southern California and then some. We are so thankful for her kindness. Thank you very much!

Manu is incredibly knowledgeable and also easygoing and joyful. She's a consummate guide. In addition to camps and tours, she also offers bespoke guiding services. My friend and I had something specific in mind, so we reached out to ask if she might have advice. She not only knew exactly what we wanted to see, but took us straight to it. Plus, she has a fascinating history herself -- when she's not teaching you about the surroundings, ask a bit about her life ;)

“He raves about his adventures”
We did a variety of summer camps for my 6 year old. Science Center, Galileo, Rec Centers, and his absolute favorite was Manu. He raves about his adventures and tells his little sister "you have to go, you will love it". He has not recommended any of the others, so Manu is pretty special.

We will be entering in our 1st year with Manu. I have two boys, 10 and 6 and they couldn't be more excited to join the experience. We have heard RAVE reviews from past families! And in speaking with Manu over the phone, it is clear she takes ultimate pride in teaching the kids how to respect and work with the wilderness. This is something that we sadly can't always expose them to living in the big city. We are thrilled to be a part of her tribe this year!
