I'm so very proud of every single one of these 11 and 12 year old kids. They had an extreme challenge and overcame physical, emotional and mental challenges by making this torturous backpacking hike up San Gorgonio. Though we didn't make the hike to the summit, they did extraordinary. They all had positive attitudes, pushed themselves and witnessed even through exhaustion, the beauty, the essence of mountain wilderness. My group, Team PandaCorns, were incredible and it was an honor to have been their guide. Not only did they take in everything, they showed support to each other and team work. This was the first time they had done anything of this nature. This challenge I know, will prepare them for future challenges they will face from now on. I'm so proud of them.
Did my first Summit climb and hiked the San Gorgonio summit in the San Bernardino National Forrest. 11,400ft, 15.2 miles one way. Next week I'll be taking 6th and 7th graders to make the climb over a day period. Great challenge and epic experience for them. I'll keep you posted.
